Save the date for the final conference of the ORION Open Science project on 27-28 September, where we will be sharing achievements and lessons gained throughout the project over the last four years and a half. The virtual final conference is free of charge and open to anyone interested in Open Science practices and discussing its future implications in a national and international context.

Open science is about ensuring research is more collaborative, accessible and transparent for all stakeholders. But how do you effectively engage stakeholders in science and embed Open Science practices in your own institution?

During the Horizon 2020 ORION Open Science project we have identified attitudes towards Open Science and genome editing, possible drivers and barriers for conducting Open Science, explored interests and values, and co-created training materials and tools for embedding open science in research funding and performing organisations. It is now time to open up, share with you our achievements and lessons (positive and negative) learned over the last four years.

We invite you to participate in the ORION Open Science virtual final conference on 27-28 September. The conference will consist of two parts of 3 hours each:

  • 27 September - Co-creation, engagement and dialogue – Sharing experiences
Get practical hands-on tips and tricks to engage the public in science and how to embed Open Science practices in your organisation. The session will highlight tools; citizen science activities, co-creation methodologies, funding frameworks, action plans and training materials developed and tested during the ORION Open Science project.

  • 28 September - Embedding Open Science practices at national, European and institutional level
Join policy makers and other stakeholders from across Europe to discuss ways to embed open science practices at national, European and institutional level. The session will also focus on future implementation of Open Science in a European context with input from policy representatives from the European Commission and other EU projects.

The ORION Open Science virtual final conference is free of charge and open to anyone interested in Open Science practices and discussing its future implications in a national and international context. You are welcome to join both days or whichever parts are most relevant to you. More information and a draft programme will be published shortly. Registrations will open in July.
