At the final conference of the ORION Open Science project on 27-28 September, we will be sharing achievements and lessons gained throughout the project . The virtual final conference is free of charge and open to anyone interested in Open Science practices and discussing its future implications in a national and international context.

The online Living Knowledge Conference aims to bring together all those involved in doing or supporting research with and for communities. What can we learn from each other’s approaches? How can we collaborate? Which links have been forged and which could we still make? The ORION project will participate with a poster presentation on how to engage the public in Open Science.
Meet the ORION team and get a glimpse of our activities at the online Future of SciComm conference on 25 June. The conference brings together European actors from research and practice of science communication and is co-organised by Wissenschaft im Dialog, the organization for science communication in Germany, and ALLEA, the European Federation of Academies of Sciences and Humanities.
The ORION team will participate in a session on "Engaging the Public through Open Science - Putting theory into practice" at the Public Communication of Science and Technology, PCST virtual conference on 27 May at 11:00-12:15 CET. During the session you will get a glimpse of some of the ORION public engagement and co-creation projects, methods and activities.
The ORION team ran a session on "How can art and gaming spur public engagement in Science" at the Swedish HSS 2021 conference on 6 May at 13:20 CET. The theme for this year's conference is "Collaboration across borders". During the session we showcased the Artist in residency project, the art work AEON - Trajectories of CRISPR and longevity" as well as the VACCINE gaming project.
The RRING project is nearing completion. The RRING online summit on 19-20 April will bring together the projects leading proponents and participants over two days to highlight, discuss and expand upon the learning and insights gained from the communities activities.
The ORION MELTIC project coordinated by the Instituto de Salud Carlos III, brings together two disciplines; health as well as information and communication technologies (ICT). The project aims to improve the quality of life of European citizens in small communities by co-creating and developing ICT health services with stakeholders including local residents. The findings of the ORION public dialogue on genome editing in life sciences research were presented at an event on 11th March 2021. The findings bring together four public dialogue events held in the United Kingdom, Germany, Sweden and Czech Republic during 2019-2020. The dialogues sought to explore public attitudes to fundamental life sciences research when revolutionary genome editing technologies are used in order to understand when and how to engage audiences with emerging technologies. The public dialogue also sought to understand how public engagement strategies might differ between countries.

The online Engage Festival brings together all of those keen to support the role of public engagement in reimagining our world and this year's theme is Engagement, innovation and change.
