The ORION Training team will present the experiences gained from communicating Open Science through the ORION podcast in the session "Tell me more - exploring Open Science through podcasting" at the Open Science Conference at 12.15-13.45 (CET) on 17 February 2021. The conference provides a forum for all stakeholders to discuss the latest and future developments in Open Science. The event is arranged by the Leibniz Research Alliance Open Science and this year’s conference will especially focus on the effects and impact of (global) crises and associated societal challenges, such as the Corona pandemic and the climate change.
The "Tell me more - exploring Open Science through podcasting" poster presentation will discuss whether Open Science should use more ‘sci-tainment’ styles and make its principles and practices more accessible through different mediums for Open Science education and science communication to the broad public. In order to make this discussion concrete we will present the ORION Open Science podcast that has been founded within ORION and produced by the partner the Max-Delbrück-Center for Molecular Medicine in the Helmholtz Association (MDC).
The ORION Open Science podcast has been running for nearly two years includes 50 episodes that are free and openly available for listeners all over the world. The podcast episodes are available on Podbean.
